'Quinta do Monte Virgem' is one of the most beautiful valleys in Serra D´Ossa (mountain in Alentejo).
The house was a convent of friars recovered in the late 1980s and maintains ambivalent characteristics that result in a perfect insertion in the land. The living room with balcony has a magnificent view over the valley of the farm.
To the North 10 ha of land rich in organic matter, with a meadow constituted when the farm had biological certification.
The East of the House, and contiguously, there is another building that consists of a smokehouse and a large storage for agricultural implements.
To the south, the house is protected by the highest hill on the farm. On the slopes, we find cork oaks, holm oaks, wild pines, berries trees and a Mediterranean vegetable undercoat. In the rocky cliffs, a couple of Bonelli's eagles nest.
To the West a slope with a population of cork oaks and in the valley runs the 'Monte Virgem' stream. On the banks there is a stone ruin, walled terraces for old vegetable gardens and along the river, a ruined watermill, a small dam and a small waterfall. The slope extends to the limit of the farm, very close to the chapel of 'Nossa Senhora do Monte Virgem', erected in the 15th century.
A wooden walkway that connects the chapel to the Aldeia da Serra D'Ossa and completes the large pedestrian circuit is the most recent investment by the municipality to enhance the natural, landscape and historical heritage of the area.
