The estate is located near Pedraça, a quiet hamlet in the province of Braga in northern Portugal. The north is also called "Tuscany of Portugal 'and is a beautiful authentic green area. Summers are long and winters mild.
Several years ago the area was opened up with aid of the European Union with the construction of excellent highways. Not yet discovered by mass tourism, this part of Portugal is evolving and becoming a growing market for both peace and quiet seekers and nature lovers.
The nearest village is Arco de Baúlhe, 4kms away. Here are a few bakeries, a butcher, a greengrocer, a small supermarket, several restaurants, a bank and a post office.
8kms away is Cabeceiras de Basto, the capital of the region. Here are several shops, banks, a large supermarket (Continente), several restaurants, a magnificent cathedral and the famous local market on Monday, an experience in itself.
Large cities such as Guimaraes, Braga and Porto are within an hour away by car via excellent modern highways.
From the ultramodern airport in Porto, also built with help of the European Union, Tap Air Portugal, Ryanair and EasyJet schedule daily flights to London (Luton, Gatwick, Stansted) and Bristol.
