Boutique B&B on the river for sale
In an oasis of Portuguese rurality and rust is the Boutique B&B Casa da Moenda (22 beds). The B&B is located in the bend of the clear River the Alvoco, steps away from the rustic village of Alvoco das Várzeas.
The complex is easily accessible via paved roads.
The apartments
The B&B consists of five fully equipped apartments. Each apartment is unique in layout and décor, cosy furnishings and with great comfort. The stay in the eighties of the last century were built in the former distillery.
The apartments each have a living room with fully equipped kitchen incl. Refrigerator and microwave induction. Flat Screen tv and satellite dish, central heating, fireplace, bedroom and bathroom with bath.
A private borehole/pump provides source in drinking water that is heated by solar panels.
The apartments are certified as Casa de Campo (country house) and officially registered with Turismo de Portugal. The B&B received for the seventh year in a row the international Green Key eco-label for environmental and environmental friendly.
Private residence
Of the five charming apartments there can be one excellent serve as comfortable living space for the owner/administrator.
The apartment on the ground floor consists of a double bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a spectacular, induction in the rock-hewn bathrooms. A door leads to a spacious lounge, which as private house room can be decorated. The cozy space is heated in winter by c.v.-radiators and a great fireplace in the middle. In summer, this is the coolest area of the complex. There are two five Wall-filling storage for linens and stocks. The living room has access doors on the street-and patio side.
The apartment has a large terrace at the front, by an elegant fence separated from the road that leads to the river.
On the large parking area, with room for the owner/manager and guests, are shady plane trees.
The patio with outdoor kitchen and bbq, swimming pool and sauna
The patio has a great outdoor kitchen with barbecue and tables for plates, pans and cutlery. There are also the areas for the c. V-Installation, solar water heaters and heating oil.
The salt water swimming pool that has been completely refurbished in February 2014, is large (13x7 m) and deep (2.25 metres). Sunbathing areas surround the swimming pool.
In 2013 was a large electric sauna built, with spectacular views of the rocks. The spa also offers a shower room, a toilet and a sink.
A comprehensive map of local walks with walking routes is available, as well as tourist information about highlights in the surroundings.
The bakery supplies fresh bread daily on request (except Sunday).
Schools, Schools & Universities
In Alvoco das Várzeas there is a crèche (300m distance); In Ponte das Três Entradas is a primary school (4km distance); In Oliveira do Hospital are secondary schools and vocational training (15km distance) and in Coimbra (80km) and in Viseu (74km) are universities and colleges.
