Farm with manor house of 'Grande Pomar' is located in Beira Alta, in the municipality of Vouzela, district of Viseu, in the region of Lafões bordering the Dão region.
It was originally donated by Dom Afonso Henriques (First king of Portugal) to Dom Peres or Dom Pires and was passed on from generation to generation by Don Francisco de Almeida, Vice King of India, by the first Baron of Moçâmedes - José de Almeida and Vasconcelos, elevated to Visconde da Lapa, whose heirs sold it to the family of the present owners in the early twentieth century.
Although located in this region of Beira, it is closer to the city of São Pedro do Sul, being famous for its thermal baths along the Vouga river. 15 minutes from the farm is the capital of district - Viseu.
